Description:
The brain is arguably one of the most complex systems and elucidating how it works is one of the great challenges in science. However, current neuroscience research is severely limited by the available technologies. Our lab innovates new optical tools and methods that allow to record neuronal activity non-invasively in a range of model organisms. In my talk I will present some of our recent results for which we developed high-speed volumetric calcium imaging methods for C. Elegans, zebrafish larvae and the mouse neocortex.
