Posted March 09 2011
The C.H.S. Foundation for the Advancement of Biomedical Research invites applications for Research Group Leader positions in cooperation with the excellence cluster Cellular Networks at the University of Heidelberg and the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ).

One of the positions is dedicated specifically to a Norovirus Research Group to perform basic and translational research in the field of human norovirus infections. The prime goal is to establish suitable in vitro infection models for human noroviruses and to investigate viral and host determinants relevant for the infection process.

The other C.H.S. Research Groups are expected to make outstanding and innovative contributions to molecular biomedical research, preferably in the areas of neurobiology or infectious diseases (with a focus on virology).

Suitable candidates must be graduated (Ph.D. or M.D.) and have post-doctoral experience from a stay in a recognized laboratory. Selected candidates will receive funds for their own group leader position, a postdoctoral scientist, a PhD student and a technician plus appropriate research supplies for an initial term of five years with a possibility for extension and tenure. Groups will be jointly affiliated with the cluster of excellence CellNetworks at Heidelberg University and the DKFZ.
