7th Workshop of the Single Cell Center Heidelberg
Posted September 11 2019
Thursday, September 12, 2019 14:00 - 17:30 at EMBL Operon, Meyerhofstr. 1, Heidelberg.

We are pleased to invite you to the 7th workshop of the Single Cell Center Heidelberg.

Bus to EMBL: 13:30 hour, leaving in front of the main entrance of the Bioquant (INF 267).

In order to give us an idea on the expected number of participants and to let us know if you want to use the Bus shuttle, we would ask you to register for the meeting at We are looking forward to see you at the workshop.

The program is currently being finalized and will become available this week.

Rapid advances in single cell genomics provides powerful new ways to dissect different layers of genomic information, giving new views of cellular identity and function at a single cell level. This is enabling exciting new opportunities to dissect developmental and disease trajectories, cellular heterogeneity within complex tissues, cellular responses to environmental and genetic variation, and disease states. Many of these technologies are still in flux, with very sparse data and rapidly evolving protocols, which provide many new opportunities but also challenges to develop, optimize and standardise these approaches.

Many groups within Heidelberg, at the EMBL, DKFZ and University, are using these approaches to dissect different aspects of development and disease states.

The aim of the center is to foster interactions and exchange of expertise (both experimental and computational), promote collaborations between groups at different sites, increase the visibility of groups using single cell sequencing approaches at the national and international level.
