Overwhelming Success Of ERC’s 10-Year Anniversary Celebration in Heidelberg
Posted March 14 2017
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the European Research Council (ERC), life science grantholders from Heidelberg University, DKFZ, EMBL and the Max-Planck Institute for Medical Research all gathered Monday for a public lecture titled “Groundbreaking Research Every 5 Minutes”.

With the aim to foster interest in the life sciences, the speakers were asked to present the central and most fascinating questions of their work in no more than five minutes. A total of 19 grantholders took on the challenge and managed to thrill an audience of around 200 with topics ranging from molecular and developmental biology, chronic pain, malaria, cancer and neurosciences up to organismal studies and technological advancements.

The event had an impact on the campus we had not anticipated, what a great success! Thank you to all the speakers for their contributions and we hope to hear more from you soon!
